Subject: Where's the spine?
It can only sicken the mind and no words are strong enough to condemm this vulgar display of blowing up public money and my heart goes out to those unfortunate people of UP and can only wonder where is Mr Vajpayee's spine in all this jamboree.

Subject:Why it hurts
I am an Indian citizen, aged 24 years. I have just read your report about Mayavati's Birthday celebrations and what has hurt me the most is the fact, that in our country where millions of citizens have no resources to 2 square meals a day, people like mayawati are blowing off the nation's resources at will. To top it, these events are being media coverage as if she has just fed the last hungry Indian. Sir/Madam, if you ever had taken journalism seriously, please, it is a request from millions of fellow Indians like me, to think of the crying children in the streets of India, the widows of our soldiers and then decide, whether Mayawati's birthday celebrations need any mention in the papers or should we try to focus our attention on the problems facing India. Finally, if someone can, please pass on a message to Mayawait ji,: "dear madam, you might have done a lot for this counrty, but did you think that your responsibilities are over ?? didnt your hands shudder, even by the thought of cutting a 51 kg cake, when several million kids would have to be forced to go to bed hungry !!! may god give you the sense to understand, love for our countries is about giving, not showing."

Subject:Learn from the Prez
Our politicians should follow our great President and learn how to lead a simple life and serve people. Rather than spending crores of rupees on birthday, we should feed poor at least with one time meal.

Subject:It's our fault
This is shocking!!! Shame on us as indians who allow idiots like mayawati to take us for a royal ride like this. To spend crores of rupees for a birthday bash for her is nothing short of being stupid. what about education and economic improvement and spending the money on feeding the poor. "laden with diamond jewellery" bah! Its not her fault, its the fault of all of us, as people, indians, we have this attitude of resilence, which will be the doom of us one day. Whay dont i hear protests from opposition and the press regarding this waste of tax-payers money? maybe the opposition leaders hope to have their own lavish dreams realized on public money??! Wake up!!! Protest!!!

Is that the way Dalits celebrate their birthday in India?

This is atrocious. On one hand, you have thousands of people dying of hunger & drought and on the other, political leaders are celebrating their birthdays with such pomp & show.....crores of rupees down the drain. Don't they have any conscience?? They lack maturity & the power to think right. What are they trying to prove? Such acts only prove their arrogance, audacity & lack of conern for fellow beings. This money could rather be used for productive purposes....there is no dearth of causes on which such money could be spent. With such money, you could feed thousands of hungry & helpless citizens , lay better roads, provide good drinking water for a whole village, etc.....the list is just endless. It really pains me to read such news. Hope in future, some good sense prevails on such people.

Subject: Death, anyone?
It is sad to see the leaders spending the exchequer's money on their personal celebration in a country where 25% population liver below poverty line and no politician from any party is raising a voice against these kinds of shows such as Iftar Parties, Diwali Parties, Birthdays etc etc where crores of rupees of Janta are spent lavishly. These people should be sentenced to death but I fear that people in this country are fit enough to bring such revolution. It is a pitiful state.

I think she gone mad. wasting all government money on such stupid celebration. I don't no what happen to our people how they can digest. The money which is spend can be use for the welfare of the state people. I think UP people should not give their precious vote for such type of people. Is there is no work in UP medical Department, where officers are busy looking after Ladoo preparation ?

If wishes were horses...
I would have been happy to hear that the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, would have used that money in a cleaning process of this magnificent city of Lucknow on her Birthday. That would have been a perfect gift for her birthday.

Subject: Not my job
Another uncouth pathetic moron in the Indian political map - all in the name of democracy! I do pity the intelligent IAS and IPS officers who have to work for this pumpkin 4th grade sub human ego maniac. I do pity the scribes as well who as a part of their job have to report on the activities of such morons. Who says my job sucks!
