Wives not to accompany Pakistani cricketers

Due to a ban imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday, the country's cricketers will have to leave their wives behind on their tour to South Africa [ Images ] for the World Cup.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by PCB chief Lieutenant General Tauqir Zia.

Meanwhile, manager-designate of the Pakistan World Cup squad, Shaharyar Khan, has been briefed about the players' contracts and the code of conduct.

Khan, a former diplomat and ex-foreign secretary, served as manager of the team for the last World Cup as well for the tour to India [ Images ] in 1998.
