In the women's singles, Aditi Mutatkar [ Images ] spanked German Carola Bott 21-13, 21-10 in just 27 minutes.

Meanwhile, the mixed doubles pair of V Diju and Jwala Gutta [ Images ] defeated fifth seed Denmark duo Rasmus Bonde and Helle Nielsen 21-14, 21-13 in 24 minutes.
