Prakash Amritraj's [ Images ] brilliant run at the Hall of Fame Championships in Newport saw him attain his career-best ranking, moving up 101 rungs to 204th spot in the latest ATP rankings.

Though Amritraj lost the final against Fabrice Santoro [ Images ] on Sunday, he gained 120 points and became the first Indian to reach an ATP singles event final after veteran Leander Paes [ Images ], who won the event in 1998.
However, Prakash failed to emulate his father Vijay Amritraj who won the title thrice.
Rohan Bopanna [ Images ], who upset top seed Mardy Fish [ Images ] to enter the quarterfinals at Newport, earned 45 points and also jumped almost 100 places to be ranked 279.
Bopanna also reached a career high of 43 in doubles. The Indian Davis Cupper, teaming up with Pakistan's Aisam Qureshi, reached the final, going down 6-4, 7-6 to Mardy Fish and John Isner.
Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] held on to their 15th and 12th position, respectively, in the doubles ranking.
Tennis ace Sania Mirza [ Images ] too remained static at the 33rd and 18th spot in the WTA singles and doubles chart respectively.
