Sania and her Czech partner Eva Birnerova were outclassed 6-1, 6-2 by top seeds Lisa Raymond [ Images ] of the US and Samantha Stosur [ Images ] of Australia [ Images ] in their first round match at Roland Garros [ Images ].
Earlier, Sania went down 6-1, 6-4 to seventh-seeded Serb Ana Ivanovic [ Images ] in the second round of the women's singles.
The world number 50 still has the mixed doubles to look forward, where she will team up with Frenchman Fabrice Santoro [ Images ].
However, there was some good news for Indian fans as Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek eased past the Polish duo of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-4, 6-0 to advance to the second round of the men's doubles.
