Roger Federer [ Images ] will get a free ride into the quarter-finals of Wimbledon [ Images ] after his opponent Tommy Haas [ Images ] withdrew on Sunday with an abdominal muscle strain.
The four-times champion was due to face the German 13th seed in the third match on Centre Court on Monday but will now enjoy a rest day.
Haas, who had reached the last 16 here for the first time, suffered the injury in his third-round win over Russian Dmitry Tursunov [ Images ].
Federer is now not scheduled to play again until Wednesday when he will face either former French Open [ Images ] champion Juan Carlos Ferrero [ Images ] or Serbian Janko Tipsarevic [ Images ].
