"My back was a bit sore so we decided that I would rest to get properly fit for this race rather than test," said the Finn in a team preview on Tuesday.
"But I am totally fine, there are no problems from the incident and I am looking forward to getting back in the car. It has been feeling really strong recently so I hope we can have more of a race in Monza than in Istanbul."
McLaren won last year at Monza, Ferrari's [ Images ] home circuit, with Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya [ Images ] while Raikkonen set the fastest race lap.
Sunday's grand prix, the last in Europe this season, could herald Raikkonen's departure from Mercedes-powered McLaren with Ferrari widely expected to announce the Finn as one of their drivers for 2007 after the race.
