Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] suffered one of his worst defeats in Grand Slam career as he and partner Alexander Waske of Germany [ Images ] crashed out of the Wimbledon [ Images ] men's doubles in the first round in London [ Images ] on Thursday.

Bhupathi and Waske, seeded 13th, went down 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-7 (7) to Frederic Niemeyer of Canada [ Images ] and Glenn Weiner of the US.

Leander Paes [ Images ] and his partner Martin Damm [ Images ] of the Czech Republic will take on Serbia & Montenegro's Janko Tipsarev and Russian Mikhail Youzhny in their first round match to be played today.
