Leander Paes [ Images ] and David Rikl lost in the doubles semi-finals of the ATP Tennis Masters in Hamburg, Germany [ Images ].

The unseeded Indo-Czech pair went down 6-7 (4/7), 3-6 to top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan [ Images ] of the U.S. on Saturday in the last major clay court event ahead of the French Open [ Images ].

Paes and Rikl, however, defended their 225 ATP points they had earned by reaching the Hamburg semi-finals last year.

The French Open begins in Paris on May 24.
