The Indian challenge at the French Open [ Images ] Tennis championship came to an end on Friday when the boys' pair of Tushar Liberhan and Divij Sharan bowed out of the junior doubles.

The unseeded Indian pair put up a brave fight but could not overcome the challenge of seventh seeds Alex Kuznetsov of USA and Mihail Zverev of Germany [ Images ] in the semi-finals. They lost 6-7(5/7), 4-6.

Liberhan and Sharan had upset the second seed Korean pair of Woong-Sun Jun and Sun-Yong Jr. Kim 6-3, 7-6(7/5) in the second round and then got the better of Phillip Simmonds of the United States and South African Fritz Wolmarans 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
