Argentine clay specialist Guillermo Coria thrashed Germany's [ Images ] Rainer Schuettler [ Images ] 6-2, 6-1, 6-3 in the Monte Carlo Masters final on Sunday.
The third seed, runner-up last year, claimed his second Masters Series crown with a devastating display of baseline expertise to spoil Schuettler's 28th birthday.
Coria tore apart his German opponent's game in a two-hour demonstration, extending his winning run on clay to 26 matches and establishing himself as one of the leading contenders to win next month's French Open [ Images ].
Schuettler, seeded four, had beaten three former world number ones en route to the final but the 2003 Australian Open [ Images ] runner-up never looked like securing his first Masters Series title.
