The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Caliberation Laboratories has awarded the ISO 17025 certificate to the Dope Control Centre of the Sports Authority of India [ Images ].
With the ISO rating the New Delhi [ Images ] lab has completed the basic requirement for seeking accreditation from the International Olympic [ Images ] Committee's Medical Commission, the SAI said in a statement on Wednesday
The lab, which got the ISO 9001 rating in December 2002, has now met all requirements for IOC accreditation.
SAI said it will now submit a formal application to the IOC Medical Commission and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to get the accreditation.
There are 30 IOC accredited labs in the world, of which five are in the Asia-Pacific region.
