India's [ Images ] national champion Abhinn Shyam Gupta and Chetan Anand [ Images ] moved into the second round in the Hong Kong Open badminton tournament, being played at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong on Tuesday.

Gupta defeated 75th-ranked Eric Go of the United States 15-6, 15-5 while Anand thrashed local boy Chun Yie Leung 15-2, 15-5 to advance.

In the next round, Gupta now faces seventh seed Anders Boesen of Denmark while Anand will take on 15th seed Chunlai Bao of China.
