India's [ Images ] Leander Paes [ Images ] and Martina Navratilova of the United States won their opening match in the mixed doubles at the French Open [ Images ] tennis championships with a degree of comfort on Friday.
The seventh seeds, who won the Australian Open [ Images ] crown in January, cakewalked past the Austrian pair of Patricia Wartusch and Joshua Eagle, winning 6-1, 6-3.
Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] and Elena Likhovtseva, the No. 3 seeds, are slated to play Tatiana Golovin [ Images ] of France [ Images ] and Mansour Bahrami of Iran later in the day.
Both Paes and Bhupathi had advanced into the second round of the men's doubles on Wednesday.
