The Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] on Monday demanded that the Lok Sabha session be extended by one more day to debate the confidence motion to be moved by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [ Images ].
The demand was raised by BJP leader V K Malhotra at a meeting of floor leaders convened by Lok Sabha Speaker [ Images ] Somnath Chatterjee [ Images ] to discuss the modalities of going through the business of the House.
A total of 12 hours spread over two days -- has been allotted for the discussion. Today, the House would sit at least till 10 pm.
It was decided to meet again on Tuesday to take a call on the issue, Malhotra said after the meeting.
The Speaker sought complete cooperation of the members in the smooth running of the House.
