Former president of the United States Jimmy Carter, accompanied by his wife Rosalyn, will arrive in Nepal on April 7 leading the Carter Centre's international election observation team.

Thailand's former deputy prime minister Surakirat Sathirathai would be co-leader of the team headed by Carter.

The mission, which includes over 60 observers from 20 countries, would be deployed throughout Nepal, according to the Carter Centre's office in Kathmandu.

The team would monitor the Constituent Assembly polls on April 10, the counting process and handling of challenges.

The delegation will also meet the election commission officers, leaders from different political parties, government officials and members of other domestic and international monitoring teams.
