Software major Infosys Technologies on Tuesday announced a 33.31 per cent growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,641 crore (Rs 16.41 billion) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, over the corresponding period a year ago.

The country's second largest software exporter had a net profit of Rs 1,231 crore (Rs 12.31 billion) in the same quarter last fiscal, Infosys [ Get Quote ] said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange [ Images ].

"Our robust and flexible operating and financial models position us well in the current uncertain economic environment," Infosys chief financial officer V Balakrishnan said.
