Black Friday for NDTV's stocks

It was a black Friday for NDTV's stocks. The company's scrip dropped by 11 per cent on the bourses reacting to the news of its managing editor Rajdeep Sardesai and chief financial officer Sameer Manchanda quitting the company.

The Sensex on Friday crashed by 220 points to close at 6248 while the Nifty shed 69 points to end at 1956.

While NDTV's scrip ended 11.2 per cent down at Rs 166 on the National Stock Exchange, after touching the day's low of Rs 151.25, on the Bombay Stock Exchange it crashed 11.3 per cent to Rs 165.60.

Over six lakh shares of NDTV were traded on the NSE. In an interesting turnaround, TV18's scrip zoomed on the news that Sardesai plans to joins TV18.

The price of TV 18's scrip rose 9 per cent to Rs 249 on the NSE and gained 7.7 per cent to Rs 245 on the BSE.
