Dhirendra Singh assumes charge as divestment secretary

Dhirendra Singh on Tuesday assumed charge as the new divestment secretary, following Monday's high level bureaucratic reshuffle.

Singh, a 1968 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka [ Images ] cadre, takes over from S S Meenakshi Sundaram, who has been appointed as financial advisor and ex-officio secretary to the government and concurrently member, Atomic Energy Commission and Space Commission, an official release said in New Delhi [ Images ].

Singh was special secretary, defence procurement prior to his new assignment.
