The resignation of Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests Dilip Singh Judeo, in the thick of a controversy over graft allegations, has been accepted.
This was stated by Union Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh in Raipur on Monday.
Judeo, who was allegedly taped taking a bribe, had sent his resignation letter to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee [ Images ].
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Vajpayee, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani [ Images ], Finance Minister Jaswant Singh [ Images ], Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] chief Venkaiah Naidu, party general secretary Pramod Mahajan [ Images ], BJP chief whip in the Lok Sabha V K Malhotra and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad met at the prime minister's residence to discuss Judeo's fate.
