The Web lands Aurangabad tooThe historic city of Aurangabad is now on India's Internet map. In terms of connectivity numbers it now ranks third in the state of Maharashtra and fifteenth in the country.
The Internet node was commissioned yesterday at the EL Telephone Bhavan by Chief General Manager, Telecom, Maharashtra Circle, C V Rajan. He called the spread of Internet the greatest revolution in information technology.
Inaugurating the system, Rajan revealed that there are 40,000 Internet subscribers in the country and the number is likely to double very soon. However, he admitted that the country has been slow in catching up with the explosive growth of the Internet.
